About

Hello,

We are launching a community action project as part of our final project for Intro to Feminist and Gender Studies Course (FGSS 2010) at Cornell University.

As part of our project, we are collecting stories from Cornell Students to highlight women’s sentiments regarding traumatic experiences on campus and raise awareness of feminist issues.

Women experience cultural trauma as a result of social constraints in society. Whether it be gender expectations, negative stereotypes, workplace discrimination, the gender wage gap, sexual assault, domestic violence, or rape, women are often left with the most terrible marks on the their self, identity, psyche, emotions, and belief.

We want to create a space where women can feel listened to or heard. All responses collected through the form will be published anonymously on a online blog post. We hope to shed light on how traumas can be produced and maintained through social constraints. We hope to create a platform to build a sense of community and support for students while raising awareness about feminist issues. All responses and blogs will be confidential and remain anonymous.

Trigger warning: This blog mentions topics and information that may be triggering for individuals. This includes but is not limited to descriptions of assault, abuse, and rape.

Note that it may be triggering for some folks to talk about their trauma and relieve experiences. Feel free to share as much as you feel comfortable sharing. Please visit our resource page if you need to seek help.

Reach out to aac272@cornell.edu if you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns.
